ZOMBIES VS. UNICORNS

Justine Larbalestier (ed.) Holly Black

It's a question as old as time itself: which is better, the zombie or the unicorn? Okay, maybe not since the dawn of time, but definitely since February 15, 2007.
On that auspicious day, Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier began a heated exchange about the creatures' relative merits on Justine's blog. Since that debate the question has become an unstoppable internet meme, crowding comment threads on John Scalzi's 40,000-reader-a-day Whatever.com and even reaching John and Hank Green's YouTube-topping Brotherhood 2.0 project.

Here in the real world Holly and Justine are asked to defend, respectively, unicorns and zombies wherever they go. The whole thing has gotten so out of hand that the only remedy is to end the debate once and for all with . . .The Zombies Versus Unicorns Anthology.

Edited by Holly and Justine (unicorn and zombie proponents, respectively), strong arguments are made for both sides in the form of short stories. Half of the stories portray the strengths for good and evil of unicorns and half show the good (and really, really bad-ass) side of zombies. Contributors include many bestselling teen authors, including Cassandra Clare, Libba Bray, Maureen Johnson, Meg Cabot, Scott Westerfeld, and Margo Lanagan. This anthology will have everyone asking: Team Zombie or Team Unicorn?
This is an anthology with a grudge to settle.

Justine Larbalestier is the author of several teen novels, LIAR, the MAGIC OR MADNESS trilogy, and HOW TO DITCH YOUR FAIRY. She was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and she and her husband, Scott Westerfeld, now split their time between Sydney and New York City.
Holly Black is the bestselling author of the Spiderwick series. She lives in Amherst, Massachusetts.

I just wonder why we can't just compromise and agree that clearly a zombie unicorn would be the coolest beast never to roam the earth. What do you guys think? Are you on Team Zombie or Team Unicorn?
