UNCHOSEN

Katharyn Blair

A fiercely-feminist teen fantasy with a horrifying curse, swoon-worthy sea captains, and the power of one girl to choose her own fate comes to life in this contemporary standalone adventure that's perfect for fans of Warm Bodies, Seafire, and anyone who has ever felt Unchosen.
For Charlotte Holloway, the world ended twice. The first time was when her childhood crush, Dean, fell in love. With Charlotte's sister, Harlow. The second time was when a curse swept across the entire earth, reducing the majority of humanity into flesh-eating, powerful beings with the ability to infect through eye contract.

Charlotte is used to being a spectator. Her older sister, Harlow, used to be a lead singer in a popular rock group and now she's commanding forces for survivors of the curse. And her younger sister used to be a nationally ranked gymnast. In their post-apocalyptic days, she's the Chosen One, gifted by the curse with the power of prophecy. When their last settlement is raided by those looking for the Chosen One, Charlotte decides she can't sit on the sidelines.

She decides to pretend to take her sister's place as a prisoner on board their ship, claiming to be the Chosen One they're all searching for. But when Dean is kidnapped and all of Vanessa's prophecies start falling into place, Charlotte will have to break free of her captors and choose to take control of her own destiny if she has any hope of saving her sisters, the boy she loves, and maybe even the world.

Katharyn Blair is a novelist and screenwriter. She graduated with her MFA in 2015 and is finishing her MA in Literature. She's been a social media coordinator for several films at 20th Century Fox, an intern at her city's Parks and Recreation Department, a gymnastics coach, and most recently, a writing professor at Azusa Pacific University.
