Against the backdrop of adrenalin-fuelled disaster response, Krissy begins to understand the power of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Whether co-ordinating emergency relief work in-the-field, or trying to find love in all the wrong places, Krissy takes us on a heartfelt and surprising adventure. Krissy Nicholson worked with Oxfam for ten years in more than eight countries across Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Initially in Human Resource Management, she moved into the public health field in some of the biggest emergency responses in the last century. Krissy now works for Plan International as the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Program Manager with a focus on Africa. Her programs operate in schools and communities to combat preventable childhood illnesses such as diarrhoea, to increase access to education, strengthen health and hygiene, and improve the lives of thousands of children and their communities every year. Krissy also loves romantic comedies, socialising, champagne and chocolate. She hopes her book - which she calls 'Chick Lit with a Social Conscience' - will raise awareness of important global issues, with a little romance and comedy thrown in for good measure.
