TOGETHER AT THE TABLE

Hillary Manton Lodge

As book three in the Two Blue Doors series opens, it is six months later, Juliette and Adrian are still together, largely because they keep each other company and are so much in each other's worlds. Juliette's mother, Gabrielle, suffers yet another health setback, and she worries about her future and the idea of life without her mother. The book is entwined with romance, as Juliette realizes that she can't stop thinking about Neil. She knows in her heart that she's still hung up on him, or at least the idea of him and is surprised to learn he is temporarily living in Portland. Her and Neil reconcile as she examines what the future holds for her life in the restaurant business. As in the first two novels, Manton Lodge has included delectable recipes that allow readers to try their hand at some of Juliette's favorite dishes.

Throughout the series, Juliette has been exploring her grandmother's secrets – including details of her life in the 1940s and a mysterious first marriage. A delightful subplot of RESERVATIONS FOR TWO, this novel contains some more glimpses into mid-century French life. Juliette and her sisters decide on taking their mother back to Paris for one last visit to the family chateau in hopes of gaining some answers and discovering the rest of Gran-mere's story. This final book in the Two Blue Doors series finishes off Juliette d'Alisa's experiences in life, food, and love.

HILLARY MANTON LODGE is the author of Plain Jayne, a Carol Award Finalist, and Simply Sara, an ECPA Bestselling book. A graduate of the University of Oregon's School of Journalism, Hillary discovered the world of cuisine during her internship at Northwest Palate Magazine.
