TODAY TONIGHT FOREVER

Madeline Kay Sneed

One wedding weekend means one dramatic reunion for two families in this bighearted ensemble cast novel about love and forgiveness for fans of Ask Again, Yes and The Paper Palace.
When thirty-three-year-old Athena Matthias is asked, yet again, to be a bridesmaid, she's not exactly enthusiastic about the idea. Still reeling from a messy divorce from her wife, she's never felt less inclined to celebrate love. But Athena can't say no, especially to one of her oldest friends, and at least it's a destination wedding, which means three days of sun and sand. As the wedding weekend commences on the gorgeous beaches of Watercolor, Florida, for the first time in ages Athena finds herself surrounded by people who know and love her. There's the bride, nervous about a past relationship; a groomsman grappling with a big mistake; Athena's mother, ready to date again; and even a potential new romantic interest. But just as Athena begins to feel herself opening up again, an unexpected guest from the past throws the entire wedding party into chaos. By the time the cake is cut and the ultimate betrayal is revealed, Athena must find the courage to forgive - both others and herself - and embrace the beauty of a chance to move forward. Madeline Kay Sneed is the author of The Golden Season. She received her BA in English Literature from Baylor University and her MFA in Fiction from Emerson College. She lives in Houston, Texas, a city she dearly loves, despite its sports franchises so frequently breaking her heart.

One of Scary Mommy's "15 New Books We Can't Wait to Cozy Up with This Fall" and one of WBUR's Fall 2023 Recommended Books

Dazzling! The story unfolds at a seaside wedding where memories, secrets, the reverberations of mistakes, and the hope for renewal collide. Madeline Kay Sneed beautifully traces how relationships of all kinds construct us, take us down, and tether us through the ebb and flow of time filtered through our interconnected lives. Readers will love these flawed, tender characters and the way they strive for wholeness, connection, and grace.

In TODAY TONIGHT FOREVER, Madeline Sneed tenderly excavates the pain of love and the beauty of grief and examines all the bittersweet contradictions a wedding contains. Wistful and wise, this novel brims with wit and charisma and blooms with every kind of love: love won and love lost, love changed and love reborn. Written with Sneed's signature compassion and humor, this is a page-turner with heart.

Madeline Kay Sneed writes with a deep love for human beings, for our foibles and needs and idiosyncrasies, and in TODAY TONIGHT FOREVER she beautifully encapsulates all the ways people come together and break apart. This book is moving, sweet, funny, and I fell in love with its characters over and over again.
