As an 18-year-old princess, Ely impulsively made a vow to her knight champion, Faron, under the secrecy of night and the thousand watchful eyes of her Goddess. They were about to face certain death at the hands of a raging Sorceressbut then they didn't. Once she took the throne, Ely and Faron agreed that they were too young and too importantas Queen and Knight Championto be anything more than best friends. It was better to forget the whole "vows" thing than risk the kingdom's newfound peace. Now, ten years later Ely finds herself needing to marry the prince of a neighboring territory for political advantage, and discovers that the Goddess won't let her out of her teenage oath that easily. Now, Ely and Faron must seek our the Goddess and break their vows, in favor of the greater goodeven if they risk rekindling a flame that never truly died.
