THIS ONE TIME

Alexandra van Tonder

Cormack Trier, known to the readers of his blog as Brodie Lomax, has been called a Professional Douchebag, A Tabloid Maverick, a Shameless Plagiarist, an Online Opportunist and an Assholepreneur. But now, following a deal for a reality show and 7-figure book deal, Lomax can add ‘Millionaire' to that list of names. In a last-ditch attempt to finish the long-awaited manuscript for his memoir, he accepts a complimentary stay in the Delphine Inn, a luxury lodge in the Denali National Park in Alaska. On his first evening at the deserted hotel, the beautiful Alicia arrives on his doorstep. After a night of passion, Cormack wakes up tied to the bed and Alicia reveals that her fiancé – one Harrison Kennedy – left her standing at the altar just two weeks earlier at the New York society wedding of the decade. She blames Brodie Lomax and his ‘woman-hating blog' for being the inspiration for Harrison ending things and running off to Ibiza. She informs Cormack that he has to write a blog post that will bring Harrison back and convince him to marry her once more. Cormack tries to make Alicia see that Brodie is just a fictional character, that it's not his fault her relationship ended, but he soon realises that Alicia can't be reasoned with, and that he has little choice but to help her with her plan, or face a slow and painful death by torture. Or worse ALEXANDRA VAN TONDER lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa. She studied copywriting for advertising and has had a successful creative career spanning ten years. This One Time is her debut novel.
