THE SEX ED YOU NEVER HAD

Chantelle Otten

A Fun, Empowering, and Shame-Free Guide to Sex and Your Body

A well-overdue, inclusive and meticulous guide to all things sex, bodies and relationships by award-winning psychosexologist Chantelle Otten.
For too long, talking about our anatomies and our experiences has been taboo. Normal functions have been deemed embarrassing and even shameful, impacting people's mental and physical health. In this amazing and comprehensive guide, filled with accurate facts and helpful illustrations, Chantelle refuses to leave these conversations languishing on the fringes any longer. From breaking myths about reproductive health to exploring ideas of consent, The Sex Ed You Never Had will teach everyone something, if not many things, about their body, and fun and pleasurable ways it can be used. The Sex Ed You Never Had covers all the basics from hormones to genitalia - and beyond - from gender and body image, to menstruation and masturbation, to consent, kink, dating and relationships. Chantelle Otten has become the go-to voice for all things sex: whether it's in women's magazines, on podcasts or through her own very popular Instagram page, Chantelle is the voice of modern, consensual, joyous sex for young men and women. Life-partnered with paraplegic wheelchair tennis player Dylan Alcott (he just recently won his second Wimbledon singles title and is currently competing at the Paralympics in Tokyo with his eyes on the gold medal) she's also an advocate for living a healthy sexuality with a disability. Chantelle Otten is a psycho-sexologist who is passionate about empowering people to feel great about their sexual health, self-esteem, communication and education. A Melbourne local, Chantelle comes from a Dutch background. Having spent time living, studying and working in Holland, Chantelle grew up with the European mindset that talking about sex, pleasure and relationships does not have to be shameful or taboo. With numerous awards, accolades and published medical journal articles, Chantelle is not only an internationally acclaimed psycho-sexologist, but also a caring and empowering sex educator. With a background in scientific research, sexual medicine and counselling, she believes that sexuality and self-esteem are an integral part of life that everyone is entitled to. Good sexual health should always be enjoyable, pain free and without prejudice. Chantelle has a Bachelor in Psychological Science and a Master of Science Medicine, Sexual Health/Psychosexual Therapy from the University of Sydney, and she's a European Federation of Sexology (EFS) and European Society of Sexual Medicine (ESSM) certified Psycho-Sexologist.
