THE PROMETHEUS MAN
A fantastic thriller debut in the tradition of "Bourne Identity" and "The 500".
The Prometheus Project is a secret government program designed to create operatives who are smarter, stronger, more agile and more resilient than any living human. It has ended in disaster.
Three years later, the first and only known human test subject reappears and begins systematically murdering everyone involved with the program. The CIA, desperate to control the situation, quickly throws together a task force to bring him down.
Tom Blake is one of the agents on the task force. But his real name is Tom Reese, and he’s the younger brother of the first scientist to disappear years before the current spate of murders. Unsure of the CIA’s official version of events, he temporarily “borrows” a vacationing CIA agent’s identity so he can use the Agency’s resources to discover the truth and bring everyone responsible to justice—even if the responsible parties include his current employers. Tom is driven by revenge. His only link to his brother's killer is a young woman named Silvana. His supervisor is Karl whose central role in the Prometheus Project still haunts him.
Unexpectedly, though, Tom begins to exhibit some of the symptoms of the Prometheus experiments, even though he has no memory of ever being involved in the program.
Scott Reardon works in investment management and is a graduate of Georgetown University and Northwestern law school. This is his first novel. His second one has been signed up with Little Brown already.
