Newseek/Daily Beast contributor Kristin Battista-Fraeeze's memoir documents her 1970s childhood during which her father made an innocent business investment in a little film called "Deep Throat," which history has defined as a cultural phenomenon: one of the most polarizing and profitable feature films of all time. But on the way to that distinction, the Battisa family was forced to reconcile their traditional Italian-Amerian family values with sudden and ceaseless proximity to a cast of larger-than-life characters including FBI agents and mobsters alike.
