THE OBOE GOES BOOM BOOM BOOM
There is a perfect instrument for everyone, and the band director would love to tell you about them all - if the enthusiastic little drummer stops interrupting! This hilarious picture book from National Book Award-longlisted author Colleen AF Venable and breakout debut illustrator Lian Cho is full of unflagging energy and music. Just right for young readers who adore Jory John, Mac Barnett, and Christian Robinson.
It is time to join the band! The band director knows all about the instruments in the school band, and he can't wait to help find the perfect one for you. But an enthusiastic little girl keeps interrupting with loud BOOM BOOM BOOMS on her drum. At least until the band director gets to one instrument that's even louder. Colleen AF Venable fills the text with boundless energy and giggle-worthy jokes.
Debut illustrator Lian Cho's exuberant artwork matches the text note for note and practically leaps off the page. This irresistible picture book - chock-full of information about musical instruments - will leave young readers eager to pick up an instrument and learn how to play. Includes biographical backmatter on all the real-life musicians who inspired each child in the band.
