For 150 years a mysterious group of three heroic and resourceful Yetis has existed as a top-secret branch of the British armed forces: The Mythical Ninth Division. Over the years, successive generations of Yetis have worked to defend the world against the growing power of the Forces of Evil, pitting their strength and wits against the might of their enemies. The series is centred round his three fearless Yeti heroes: Albrecht, Timonen, and Saar, but there are eight other Mythical divisions, which include Big Feet, Trolls, Mermen and Minotaurs, all working together to protect us from the Forces of Evil. Alex completed an art degree in Cheltenham, where he won the David Murray Landscape Award from the Royal Academy. He lives in London with his wife and two children. Alex burst on to the children's book scene with his highly original THE MOUSEHUNTER TRILOGY, published by Faber & Faber. He has gone on to write and illustrate two series for Walker Books: THE MYTHICAL NINTH DIVISION (ages 7-11) PIGSTICKS AND HAROLD (ages 5-7). PIGSTICKS AND HAROLD is currently in development for a television series with Jam Media. Alex has just launched an exciting new scheme called ‘This Book is Funny', aiming to drive readers to lesser-known funny books.
