THE KILLING KIND

Chris Holm

Chris Holm’s THE KILLING KIND is a thriller about a hitman named Hendricks who only kills other hitmen, a rogue who has his own compelling moral code and a lingering attachment to his ex, who believes he died while on mission in Afghanistan.
What Hendericks doesn’t know is that the hit is now on him, and as compelling as our protagonist is, the assassin hired to take him out might be even better. In the vein of Jeff Abbott or our very own Matthew Quirk, this is the sort of traditional thriller that satisfies on every level—addictive plotting, fine turns, clean writing and characters who are smarter and more three-dimensional than you’d have any right to expect.

Chris began his writing career the good old-fashioned way, selling stories to Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine, and then Harlan Coben discovered him and included one of Chris's stories in his BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES 2011 anthology. That story, called "Hit," eventually turned into THE KILLING KIND. Chris has been longlisted for a Stoker Award and nominated for an Anthony, a Silver Falchion, a couple Derringers and Spine-tinglers, and a handful of House of Crime and Mystery Readers' Choice Awards.
