THE KENNEDY REVELATION

Leon Berger

In the immediate aftermath of the JFK assassination, Philip Marsden investigates the coincidental murder of his own Cuban-American wife. As evidence builds and the threats begin to mount, he discovers that the two deaths might not be unrelated.
It begins with the all-too-familiar scene of the shooting in Dallas. Lee Harvey Oswald is captured and accused. Philip Marsden is on vacation from the CIA, at home in Miami watching the news reports by Walter Cronkite, just like so many in the US and around the world. His Cuban-American wife, Carrie, is out at a business meeting with her lawyer father. Since her miscarriage the previous year, she's been trying to keep herself busy. Later that same day, Philip receives a visit from the police to say that his wife and her father have both been found dead, shot to death on the street – a horrifying personal shock on an already tragic day.
With the police strangely evasive on the subject of his wife's death, Philip begins to cast around on his own, trying to piece together what his wife and father-in-law might have been working on and, gradually, it begins to dawn on him that the two incidents happening on the same day might not be a coincidence.
LEON BERGER is the author of two literary fiction novels in hard cover and 3 commercial fiction, including 2 recent thrillers, in trade paperback. All were distributed in Canada, three in the US and rights were also sold in Europe. He was reviewed in Globe & Mail, La Presse and Time and featured on Book TV.
