THE HIJACKING OF CASSIE PETERS

Mary Stanley

Abandoned by their mother at a young age, the Peters sisters, Ali, Mer and Cassie, have formed a tight bond in their new home in Germany with their father. But when the eldest, Ali, moves away from home for college, they start to grow apart. Cassie, the youngest sister, decides it is time to track down their long-lost mother, and this decision begins a sequence of events that will change all of their lives forever.

Set in Ireland and Europe in the 1970s and 80s, The Hijacking of Cassie Peters is a poignant story of family, tragedy and hope. Stanley takes themes from classical mythology and makes them her own; deftly weaving them into a movingly heartfelt narrative that will stay with you long after you turn the final page.

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Mary Stanley has lived and worked in England, Germany, Italy, Malta and Ireland. This is her seventh novel, her list of previous novels including Missing, Revenge, and The Umbrella Tree. She has also written two novellas, as well as a number of short stories and newspaper articles.
