The Headwind

People don’t understand that whoever’s born without being able to see, or has two stumps where their arms should be, or is in a wheelchair, is used to considering their own condition as normal. 

If they have found a key to accepting themselves and they aren’t neurotic then they enjoy their lives anyway, with all the limits. 

They may laugh at themselves, at other disabled people, at the reactions of so-called normal folk. 

A book for “going beyond” – beyond sight, because there’s much more to be discovered out there, even though people who can see tend to think that all experience passes through our eyes; and, of course, beyond the fear of diversity, because it’s only thanks to difference that we are able to enrich ourselves more and more every day.
