THE GHOST WHO BLED

Gregory Norminton

Acclaimed novelist's striking short story collection
In postwar Japan, a ghost haunts the ruins of Hiroshima, and a home to which he can never return. A simple act of gallantry in the Malaysian jungle spawns a lifelong feud in the home counties. A fading actor with a terminal illness devises a meticulous plan to take one final curtain call. And when a holidaying couple fall prey to a confidence trick, a terrible secret from their past rises to the surface.
Achingly sad and boundlessly inventive, Norminton's debut short story collection is as witty and lyrical as it is moving. Spanning centuries and continents, these stories reveal Norminton as a master storyteller of incredible range. The stories in THE GHOST WHO BLED form a tour de force, blending the historical sensibilities of Andrew Miller with the spec-fic world-building of JG Ballard, all infused with the dark ingenuity of Roald Dahl.
