Set in the near-future, Lane Anslow’s action-packed search for his miss- ing brother, a brilliant scientist, leads him to the merciless quest of Tho- mas Zed, a powerful businessman determined to live forever.

A gifted scientist and inveterate charmer, Johnny Anslow has a pen- chant for getting into scrapes, so when the brilliant scientist goes miss- ing, his rent-a-cop brother Lane fears Johnny’s once again in trouble. Portland is a dangerous city, not like the old days: after an economic collapse, thugs and other powerful men cordon off their own areas of control, and the mighty dollar is less mighty than obsolete. Atop Mount Tabor, however, powerful businessman Thomas Zed envi- sions a brilliant future, and is counting on Johnny to be a part of it. Zed is a visionary of another sort: he sees hope for a shining future where others fail to, but living out his dream will require numerous dark sac- rifices; violence, murder and even more horrendously macabre offenses are nothing to a man determined to live forever. Hoping to save his beloved brother along the way, the daunting task to try to stop the mer- ciless Zed falls to Lane Anslow. Pierre Ouellette entered the creative realm as a lead guitarist for nu- merous bands, and ended up writing novels. His third novel, A Breed Apart, was published in 2009 to highly favorable reviews. Pierre resides in Oregon, where he devotes himself exclusively to writing fiction and playing jazz guitar.
