THE DARKEST HOUR

Tony Schumacher

1946. Nazi Germany has defeated the British and occupied the country. Rossett, a decorated British war hero, has returned to London, as a cop. Reassigned to the Bureau of Jewish Affairs, he gets on with his job -- which includes rounding up Jews for deportation – until one day something happens that awakens his conscience and changes his life. He finds himself on the run, the quarry of not only the Germans, but also the Royalist resistance and the Communists, who are being supplied by a Russia still at war with the Germans. Each faction has its own agenda, and Rossett learns that no one is to be trusted.

Former British Bobby Tony Schumacher, born and bred in Liverpool, England, has written for The Guardian Newspaper, Huffington Post and local magazines. He is a regular on BBC Radio and London's LBC Radio and a popular panelist on Liverpool's own City Talk FM. He has written and presented short films for the BBC's Politics Show and he also won the "People Choice" Award at the recent "It's Liverpool" film awards. A collection of his columns for Liverpool and Manchester Confidential magazines was self-published last year. At various times he has been a stand-up comedian, bouncer, jeweler, taxi driver, perfume salesman, actor, garbage collector, and he once sold underwear in the Caribbean. He is now very glad he's finally got a proper job as a writer.
