THE CHRISTMAS PEG
Cameron Williams Matthew Martin
From Cameron Williams and Matthew Martin comes a hilarious and energetic story about the worst Christmas present ever.
Wal tries to be good, he really does, but his bad behaviour lands him on Santa's Naughty List. And all he gets for Christmas is a peg. Can Wal ever change his ways?
With lively and vibrant illustrations, this book is a fun, irreverent Christmas story not only for Christmas, but all year round.
Cameron Williams is best known for his TV hosting roles at Channel Nine, especially Weekend Today and Friday Night Football. He is the proud father of daughters Arkie and Remy, and partner of beautiful Natasha. They are lucky to live next door to artist Matthew Martin.
One day they happened to mention a spoken story Cameron had invented for Arkie about a Christmas peg, and Matthew said, 'Let's turn it into a book.'
For most of his 30-year newspaper and television career Cameron often thought he would write a book. He's quite surprised this is it.
Matthew Martin was born in Broken Hill, New South Wales. His cartoons and illustrations have been published in newspapers, magazines and books in Australia, the USA and the UK. He's created animations, posters and drawings for Mambo T-shirts, illustrated books for children and for adults and even drawn ducks in wet cement on the footpath.
He lives in Sydney with his girlfriend and their son, right next door to Cameron Williams, author of the picture book The Christmas Peg. So Matthew knows Cameron's family and he thought about the kids when he was drawing the illustrations.
