THE BONBON GIRL

Linda Finlay

Colenso Carne lives with her parents in a tumbledown cottage on the Lizard where she fashions Serpentine stone from the local mine. When she catches the eye of the local factory manager, seeing an opportunity to better their lives, her father orders her to reject her betrothed Kitto and marry Fenton. When she refuses, he turns nasty and Colenso is forced to flee for her life. Taken in by wise woman Mara, she travels with the kumpania around the Cornish fairs. In order to pay her way she learns to make bonbons which she sells at the Panam. Although her new life is fascinating, she never gives up hope of being reunited with Kitto.

LINDA lives by the sea in Devon and spends much of her time travelling around the West Country where her novels are set researching the historical detail.

We moved Linda this year to HQ who wanted an author full of potential they could build. HQ have brilliantly re-packaged her.
