TECNOFASCISMO

Donatella Di Cesare

Politically involved philosopher Donatella Di Cesare analyzes modern social dynamics highlighting the exploitation of technology and the annihilation of ethnic minorities perpetrated by the "new Right".
One hundred years after the advent of fascism, the world is witnessing the affirmation of a new form of totalitarianism that follows the lead of technology and obeys the principle of blood. Only by considering these two trends, one hypermodern and the other regressive, is it possible to analyze the rise of the new Right in it severity.

From the sophisticated networks in the hands of a global élite to the dark areas in which ethnic cleansing takes place, this book outlines the multifaceted contemporary landscape, where politics seems to have surrendered to war, and democracy is reduced to ethnocracy. This neo-totalitarian control of rights-deprived and ethnically confined peoples is indeed the keystone of the technocratic Right. The alternative of peace lies within the politics of cohabitation.

Donatella Di Cesare teaches Theoretical Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and the School of Advanced Studies at Sapienza University in Rome.
