TAKE THREE GIRLS

Fiona Wood Cath Crowley Simmone Howell

Rumor is the new Truth. What are you going to do about it?

Sixteen year olds Clem, Kate and Ady are in Year Ten at St Hilda’s. Over the course of the year, girls from St Hilda’s have frequently been targeted by PSST (Private School Secrets Trackr), a site devoted to rumour, gossip and slander, most of it sexual in nature. Its probable source is someone within brother school Basildon Grammar, but who is the St Hilda’s deep throat? How does the site discover things that could only come from within the school community?
PSST is part of larger online landscape, and in response to the era of cyber-bullying, St Hilda's is running a Wellness Program, a nine-part course taking place in third term. It's during these classes that an unlikely friendship between Clem, Kate and Ady is sparked. Each of them has a disconnect between who she seems to be, and what really matters to her. Kate, a quiet boarder, is taking risks to pursue the experimental music she loves; Clem is shrugging off her old swim-team persona, exploring her first sexual relationship, and trying to keep her annoying twin, Iris, at arms length; and Ady, far from being the confident girl she appears, is grappling with a family in chaos, and wondering who her real friends are. Cath Crowley is an award-winning author of young adult novels, including Graffti Moon and A Little Wanting Song. Simmone Howell is the author of Notes From the Teenage Underground and Girl Defective. Fiona Wood is the author of Six Impossible Things, Wildlife, and Cloudwish.
