SUNRISE NIGHTS

Brittany Cavallaro Jeff Zentner

In this YA "Before Sunrise" from acclaimed co-authors Jeff Zentner and Bri Cavallaro - in their first collaboration - two teens have a chance encounter on the last night of sleepaway camp.
Florence and Jude attend the same summer camp throughout high school, but they only meet on the last night of camp. After that, they make a pact not to talk, text, or DM for the other 364 days of the year. What will happen when they meet again the following summer?

This is a novel in verse and conversations, and the accessible format is sure to appeal to readers. Additionally, given the success of recent YA titles like New York Times bestseller Clap When You Land; Printz Honor winner Every Body Looking, and Morris Award finalist Me: Moth, it's clear that there's an audience hungry for nuanced YA novels in verse.

The next standalone YA novel by the author team is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2025.

Jeff Zentner is the author of the New York Times Notable Books The Serpent King and In the Wild Light. He has won the ALA's William C. Morris Award, the Amelia Elizabeth Walden Award twice, the Muriel Becker Award, and the International Literacy Association Award for Young Adult Fiction and has been longlisted twice for the Carnegie Medal. Before becoming a writer, he was a musician who recorded with Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, and Debbie Harry. He lives in Nashville.

Brittany Cavallaro is the New York Times bestselling author of A Study in Charlotte and the Charlotte Holmes novels. With Emily Henry she wrote the young adult thriller Hello Girls. Cavallaro is also the author of the poetry collections Girl-King and Unhistorical and is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in poetry. She lives in Michigan, where she teaches creative writing at Interlochen.
