STATE OF EMERGENCY

As events on the streets reached their fevered pitch in Minneapolis with the death of George Floyd, Tamika Mallory gave what's been called "the speech of a generation." A few words from her heart, captured the emotions of a historic moment. The so-called "leader" of the Black Lives Matter movement, she has been making waves and moving massive crowds for decades.

STATE OF EMERGENCY is a concise, intense, and urgent missive that will bring any reader up to speed about the events that have been unfolding in real time over the last few months, present my prescriptions for change, and give them the tools necessary to enact it.

It is a handbook for every young radical who wants to do the work that our communities need, now. Consisting of a concise 50k words, it will identify and discuss the policies and legislation that have long upheld discrimination, as well as their historical roots. It will provide strategies and talking points on how to reallocate federal funds to help rebuild the black community. By presenting people with the irrefutable, historical, and engrained truth of the discriminatory underpinnings of our society, it will activate those who were previously unsure of what to do or how to act.
