Sleeping Beauty

At last, a long-awaited child, a daughter, is born to the royal couple. To celebrate, they arrange a banquet, to which the fairies in their kingdom are also invited – but the thirteenth fairy is turned away. There are not enough golden plates to serve her. Enraged, the thirteenth fairy places a curse on the baby princess: at the age of 15, she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. The twelfth fairy, who has not yet presented her gifts to the child, partially reverses the curse.
