Drawing from the overnight website sensation, shitmykidsruined.com, Julie Haas Brophy's Sh*t My Kids Ruined collects child-rearing nightmares-turned-laugh-fests into a hilarious book of pictures and anecdotes.

One day as Julie Haas Brophy prepared to take her kids to school, her two-year-old grabbed a paint can, pried open the lid and emptied the contents a quart of glossy black paint all over the rug. Already in the habit of photographing the minutiae of her life, she snapped a quick picture of the disaster with her camera phone and posted it to Facebook. Comments flooded in from parents and observers everywhere. As she laughed at each new comment, her frustration and anger waned. The morning after the rug incident, she complained to a neighbor, "They ruin all of my shit!"
