Anne McCreanor

First book featuring DI Kat Wheeler and her team, set in contemporary Glasgow.
A new gritty and unusual Glasgow crime novel which is the beginning of a series, a page-turner with a keen sense of place of the seamier side of Glasgow. A washed-up junkie, jumps to his death from a city centre bridge. A respectable, professional middle-aged man is found brutally beaten and hung on a meat-hook in his isolated home. Newly-appointed DI Kat Wheeler, who struggles to hold her ground in a disparate team of competing men, is called on to investigate. In spite of the lack of evidence, the tow deaths appear to be linked - but how can they? As the story unfolds, Kat is forced to confront her own prejudices and uncompromising standards. As she scratches below the surface, her investigation uncovers a web of lies and deceit which goes to the heart of her own investigating team... Anne McCreanor was born and brought up in Glasgow, trained and worked as a teacher and is now a psychotherapist in Wells and Glastonbury, where she lives with her husband. She won the Wells Crime Novel competition in 2012.
