Italian and American MasterChef judge Joe Bastianich is an Italian boy from Queens who has turned his passion into a food and wine empire. As a renowned restaurateur and wine expert, Joe—with business partners Mario Batali and Lidia Bastianich, his mother—has established some of the most celebrated restaurants in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and now Singapore. In Summer 2010, he, his mother, and Batali partnered with Italian retail pioneer Oscar Farinetti, to bring Eataly, the largest artisanal food and wine market in the world, to New York. He also operates three vineyards in Italy and another in Argentina and is considered America’s foremost authority on Italian wine.
