ASSASSIN'S MACE has been optioned by Johnny Depp's production company Infinitum Nihil. Screenwriter John Romano, who wrote the screenplay for "The Lincoln Lawyer," is attached to adapt.

Decorated CIA analyst Mark Henshaw's debut ASSASSIN'S MACE follows two CIA outcasts brought together in the Red Cell, the Agency's out-of-the-box think tank.

After her first assignment in Venezuela goes disastrously awry, beautiful rookie case officer Kyra Stryker is brought back to work in the Red Cell. There she's paired with Jonathan Burke, a straight-laced analyst who's alienated his colleagues with his unorthodox methods and a knack for always being right.

When a raid on Chinese spies in Taiwan ends in a shootout, Stryker and Burke's assignment is to figure out why China is ready to invade the island nation without any fear of reprisal from the U.S. Navy. They must extract their top CIA mole, codenamed Pioneer, in China before he is arrested and executed. The answers he holds could mean the difference between peace in the Pacific or an escalating global conflict. They discover China's top secret weapon, the Assassin's Mace.

Henshaw is a decorated CIA analyst with over eleven years of service. In 2007, he was awarded the Director of National Intelligence Galileo Award for innovation in intelligence analysis.
