REASONS MY KID IS CRYING
Based on a hot tumblr feet, the book will largely consist of photos submitted to Greg Pembroke from users around the world. It will be 4 color and include between 200-250 images.
Within a few days of its creation this incredibly straightforward but undeniably funny tumblr feed reached #1 on the front page of Reddit. Within a week it was featured on Time.com, Gawker, Mashable, Buzzfeed, ABC News, Yahoo, MSN, Funny or Die, The Daily Dot, Media Bistro, The Huffington Post, Good Morning America, The Today Show. It's been spoofed by Conan O’Brien, and shown on countless local news, radio and television websites in the US and around the world.
In less than a mont the blog has received over five million hits, 206,000+ likes and reblogs in the past month, and is the most visited page on Tumblr, attracting twice the number of visitors to the #2 site. It is on track for from 14.5 million separate visits this year. The Facebook page alone is on pace to reach over 3.7 million. So what is REASONS MY KID IS CRYING? What content could possibly generate this kind of attention so quickly?
Candid photos of children losing their marbles with captions explaining why. Something about pointing out to parents that not every toddler tantrum is a tragedy--and that it’s even okay to find some humor in it--is clearly hitting home.
Finished material will be ready by October 2013 with US publication slated for Spring 2014.
