RABBIT

Gilad Soffer

The City Mouse and the Country Mouse get a new treatment in this charming picture book, populated with some of the same lovable characters that we met in Gilad Soffer's first book: DUCK'S VACATION.
Rabbit is having an identity crisis. He's tired of being called by the wrong name. Convinced that he's really a hare, he switches places with a country-hare, who is tired of being called a rabbit and can't wait to see the big city. But of course, the desert isn't always sandier on the other side and both Rabbit and Hare learn that there's no place like home. Gilad Soffer was born in New York in 1968. He holds degrees in Psychology and Visual Communication and is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Israel's premier art institute. He has illustrated critically acclaimed books, including three by David Grossman –JONATHAN THE EFFECTIVE DETECTIVE, WHO WANTS A PIGGYBACK? and RACHELI'S SECRET FRIEND ¬– as well as Yonathan Yavin's OH, BROTHER which won the Israel Museum's Ben Yitzhak Award for children's book illustration. DUCK'S VACATION is Gilad's first book as both author and illustrator. The book was an instant bestseller in Israel and has received rave reviews.
