Quantum Magic
Quantum mechanics is no longer just an object of laboratory research – its laws are working in the world right now! The principles acting on the level of elementary particles are applicable to macrosystems. They largely contradict to what we call 'common sense', engraved in our mind by classic physics and regarded as magic. But everything is real and perceptible. Quantum computer, teleportation, hyperspace transfers – all these recent developments of quantum mechanics allow us to create revolutionary devices and reveal a whole world of new unique opportunities. The author speaks about cutting edge scientific discoveries and introduces an exciting quantum universe to the readers. Not only has this universe no time space and time boundaries, no limits to technological progress; it also helps all individuals to enrich and develop their personality and inner world. The magic of new discoveries is our way to know more about people and their environment. The author says, 'The recent results of scientific work are significant and impressive. They should not be boiled down to one-day sensations that are sometimes covered by mass media and forgotten the next day. What we have now is a huge collection of experimental and theoretic investigations in the field of quantum physics. They are gradually becoming comprehended and will create a perfectly new quantum paradigm of reality. The meaning of these achievements cannot be overestimated. We are not able to envisage all the consequences now. All in all, the least thing that can be said is that eventually some radical changes will take place - not only in natural science, but also in the way the entire human society sees the world.' Author’s Book Summary: In February, 2007, Canadian company D-Wave Systems announced a launch of the first quantum computer. Its first public presentation took place in the Silicon Valley. It became an immensely important step in the development of contemporary science and was called the Second Quantum Revolution, which reflects the fact that we now have special forms of equipment, using non-local quantum correlations as the main working source. Not only are they technical novelties with fabulous potential, they are also a real revolution, completely overturning our world. It appears they are based on the physical laws incompatible with our habitual perception of the world. As every revolution, this one leads to crucial changes in the society. The worldview of the majority of people is based on universally accepted laws of classic physics: it is commonly known there is nothing in the Universe, apart from substance and physical fields, and that ultimate particles are the original everlasting and indestructible constructional material. This limited outlook often forms a whole system of one’s essential values, determines the individual’s aspirations, and his entire life. That is why we might well expect that the recent achievements in quantum physics, not fitting into our simplistic view of reality, would become so important for each of us. They can radically change our world vision and lead to considerable changes of our goals and system of values. Developing quantum computers helped the quantum theory to finally prove that matter, e.g. substance and all known physical fields, are not the basis of the world – they are just a negligible part of the unified Quantum Reality. Quantum computer is based on the physical processes that overstep the limits of the material world and do not have any classic analogues. Non-local quantum correlations, providing its functioning, are nothing but 'magic power', also called 'subtle world energies'. Up to this moment, religious and mystical world views were just an object of belief; they did not provide any understanding of the processes occurring on the quantum levels of Reality. However, scientists have finally managed to learn and understand the physical laws working in the subtle world. Everything that was only in the realm of belief and magic is now an object of scientific research giving clear understanding of 'how it really works'. Comprehending the principles of the quantum computer operations is a fundamental step to learning physical laws of the subtle world - or quantum levels of Reality with their 'magic' potential.
