Parker

Matthias Göritz

Novel

Thanks to his bestselling book on coaching, Parker gained international fame as a rhetorical genius and had even been recruited to participate in Obama’s presidential election campaign. But that was a long time ago now and he has reached a bit of a turning point in his personal life, too.

Parker only has one week left. A friend, a veteran of the political scene in northern Germany, has invited him to Kiel to act as media consultant and speechwriter for a promising young politician. Parker needs a win, a contract, and some cash. Most of all, he needs a fresh start. It seems like he has never really stopped running since he left Hamburg for the US when he was a student. A globally connected work nomad, Parker always has one foot out the door when anyone gets too close. And that is exactly why his last girlfriend dumped him. Now he is back in Germany and Anneli Schneider, his new client’s ambitious and battle-tested employee, has begun to challenge him at every turn. Matthias Göritz’s latest novel is an exciting tale of intrigue, power and love that tackles the irresistible lure of success and its price.
