OPERATION MANHATTAN

Dana Elazar-Halevi

OPERATION MANHATTAN is the first in a series of spy thrillers for Middle Grade readers by Dana Elazar-Halevi which introduce young readers to the intriguing world of intelligence services.
When Guy, Roi and Noam are accepted to a special youth delegate program which will take them to the United Nations headquarters in New York, no one understands why. Maybe the choice of Guy, resident computer genius, makes sense, but why in the world was Noam chosen? And Roi? He barely knows any English!
Only one person knows the truth - Hanan Shomroni, a top-ranked Mossad agent.
Ahmad Abu Bashir, the head of an international terror organization, is about to arrive for a visit to the UN. Hanan thinks it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to break into his computer. But the Mossad isn't allowed to operate on US soil. Against all reason and without telling anyone, Hanan has decided that only these kids can assist him in this mission.
The three go through grueling training to prepare them for the operation. But when they get to Manhattan, everything goes wrong

“Rhythmic, fascinating and with an Israeli aroma”

“ a suspenseful plot with a bit of violence, a drama which glorifies the individual as much as it does teamwork, and in the tradition of initiation journeys to finding inner strengths and overcoming obstacles with wisdom and trickery.”
