B.J. Novak is a writer and actor best known for his work on NBC's Emmy-Award winning comedy series “The Office.” In addition to starring as Ryan, Novak also served as a writer, director, and executive producer of the long-running series and scripted many of its most memorable episodes. Inspired by writers such as Woody Allen and George Saunders, Novak has created an original world of characters and stories that tell us much about the world we live in. Equal parts quirky and sad and funny and whimsical, Uncollected Stories is unlike anything else you will read this year.

B.J. is one of those rare talents who can perform as well as write. Over the past year, he has developed a live show around reading these stories. His last show at the Uprights Citizen Brigade in LA sold out in 25 minutes. For the publication of this book, he will be working closely with his agents to set up a tour of the US where he will read and perform these stories and meet fans afterward to sign books.
As an actor in motion pictures, Novak's notable performances include a role in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds," as well as appearances in "Knocked Up," "Unaccompanied Minors," and "Reign Over Me." He will next be seen in the upcoming 20th Century Fox comedy “The Internship,” the Walt Disney Studios drama "Saving Mr. Banks,” and in Sony’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Novak recently served as executive producer for the pilot of “The Mindy Project" on Fox, and continues to work as a writer, director, consulting producer and recurring guest star on the program’s first season.

BJ has a degree from Harvard University in English. He has developed a live show using these stories, where he performs the stories like standup comedy, and the shows sell out in minutes.
