In China, their compass points south. They write with pictures and eat with

chopsticks. They mourn in white and marry in red. Their last name comes first. Soup is

the last course. It is very different in China.

No wonder: China is far away. The people have a different history, different customs

and preferences – and therefore their own take on things, which is often completely

different from ours.

What defines a normal Chinese day? How do the Chinese speak, write and celebrate?

What do they wear? Are they superstitious? What do they find beautiful? What do

they eat? And what do their names mean? There is a lot one can say, of course.
