Set in a small town in northern Italy in 1996, Noi che balliamo nel labirinto di spine follows Max, an 18-year-old who has been spiralling since the sudden disappearance of his best friend, Rachele.

He's repeating his final year of high school, has become increasingly volatile, and refuses to accept that she simply vanished. The police have closed the case, labelling her a rebellious girl who likely ran away and Max is the only one who keeps fighting, convinced that something must have happened to her.

Then a new kid, Fiore, arrives in Max's class. He's quiet and self-contained, small but sharp, with a soft voice and something different about him. He doesn't quite fit in - but he doesn't try to, either. After a tense start, something unexpected begins to grow between him and Max: a bond, fragile and electric. Together, with a few friends at their side, they set out to uncover the truth: did Rachele really run away, or did something more serious happen to her?

Beatrice Corradini 28, lives in Rome, where she balances studying and working. She began publishing on Wattpad in 2018, building a close-knit community of readers. Her short story Spettro won the Wattys 2020 award in the Mystery/ Thriller category, and another of her stories, La stella vagante, was featured in the anthology Booktok, published by Einaudi Ragazzi. Originally published on Wattpad and a Wattys 2023 finalist, Noi che balliamo nel labirinto di spine is her first novel.
