NIGHT OF THE FRANKENFROGS

Chris Schweizer

An all-ages graphic novel series by award-winning artist Chris Schweizer.
Pumpkins County has always been a spooky place. Most people who live there try to ignore this fact and live normal lives. But not the Creeps: four unpopular middle-schoolers who seem to revel in the creepiness of their town (hence the nickname). There’s Carol, the Type A personality and natural leader; Mitchell, the goth kid who has an interest in the occult; Mark, the military brat/demolitions expert; and Rosario, the muscle, who thinks she’s dainty and demure. Together, they’re always getting into trouble as they investi- gate the secrets of Pumpkins County. When Carol’s attempts to have dissection removed from the sci- ence curriculum fails, a spiteful Principal Garish puts the Creeps in charge of the frog freezer. When the frogs begin to go miss- ing, the Creeps must investigate to clear their names. And when those frogs—pieced together like Frankenstein’s monster from spare frog parts and road kill—turn up and start attacking their dissectors, the Creeps know that it’s just a matter of time until someone gets seriously hurt. Or worse! Can they discover who is bringing the frogs to life before it’s too late? Chris Schweizer grew up in Louisiana and Kentucky, and went to college at Murray State University. He majored in art, then theatre, then history, then English, then ended up back with art, earning a BFA in graphic design. He received his MFA in 2008, and began teaching at SCAD-Atlanta shortly afterwards as an instructor in the Sequential Art and Animation depart- ments. After five years of teaching, he decided that he would stop after the school year ended in 2013 in order to devote all of this attention to storytelling (and, of course, his family). He lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
