NADYA SKYLUNG AND THE CLOUD PIRATES

Jeff Seymour

A new middle grade fantasy adventure series about a scrappy young team of orphans who crew a flying ship. Howl's Moving Castle meets Keeper of the Lost Cities - this one's is sure to keep readers turning pages.
Twelve-year-old Nadya Skylung has an important job on the cloudship Orion. As a Skylung, it is her responsibility to keep the ship afloat. Nadya is one of five children on the ship, each rescued by their kindly captain Nic, who trains the orphans in their special abilities so that, one day, they will be equipped to run a ship of their very own. For now, though, each crew member has a part to play. But when Captain Darkpatch and his fearsome pirate crew kidnap the adult crew members, the children are thrown together in an adventure that forces them to be a team. It is up to Nadya and her friends to save the grownups from the pirates.

In this rip-roaring middle grade adventure, Jeff Seymour manages to keep the stakes high and the excitement even higher. Nadya and her friends are clearly at the beginning of a very grand adventure and nobody, not even a swashbuckling cloud pirate, is going to get in their way.

Author and editor Jeff Seymour has been creating speculative fiction since he was a teenager. His writing covers genres from magical realism to science fiction to epic fantasy. Jeff’s nonfiction has appeared in Clarkesworld Magazine and on the website Fantasy Faction, and his debut novel Soulwoven got over a million reads while being featured on Wattpad. As a freelance editor, he has acquired and edited titles for Harlequin’s digital-first imprint Carina Press, the Nelson Literary Agency Digital Liaison Platform, and Kindle and USA Today bestselling indie authors. In his free time, Jeff plays more video games than he should, pretends he knows anything about raising two energetic cats, and dreams.
