MY GRANDPA IS A DINOSAUR

Terry Jones Richard Fairgray

For readers ages 3 to 6, this is a funny read aloud to be enjoyed at home and in the classroom. The book enters a child's imagination and shows, from their perspective, how "ancient" elderly people can seem. And kids love stories about dinosaurs.
This little girl has been watching her grandpa for a very long time, and she is almost absolutely certain that he is a dinosaur. So why is it that nobody believes her? Why can’t anyone else see what she sees? He roars! (And no, it’s not just a snore.) He has green skin! (And no, he’s not from outer space.) He even has a tail! (And no, he’s not a horse!) Determined to get to the bottom of this mystery, the little girl goes straight to the source. It’s time to ask Grandpa once and for all: is he a dinosaur? Just like Gorillas in Our Midst, MY GRANDPA IS A DINOSAUR is all silliness and fun. Comic artist Richard Fairgray’s illustrations are filled with wonderful, quirky details for kids to discover with each read. Kids will love that they can see that Grandpa is a dinosaur when nobody else can. And, of course, a story like this can’t end without a surprising twist! Richard Fairgray was born and raised in New Zealand and has been publishing since he was seven years old. His main focus since then has been comic books, but he has taken time out during his life to work on films, to perform stand-up comedy, to teach high school, and to stick labels on honey jars. He has been working exclusively in comics for the last seven years with longtime collaborator Terry Jones. Their main work together is the ongoing series called Blastosaurus. He resides in Auckland, New Zealand. Terry Jones was born in Wales. He taught high school–aged kids in the United Kingdom for many years before immigrating to New Zealand. He retired from teaching in 2009 to focus on his writing. He has written newspaper and magazine articles, some nonfiction works, and two novels, The Left-Handed Gun and The R.U.M.B.L.E.R. He currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
