MRS HUDSON AND THE MALABAR ROSE
Second book of the Mrs Hudson series
The Great Salmanazar, a world famous magician, is to perform in London, and Sherlock Holmes has been asked to guard a priceless ruby, on display only a few doors away. All across Europe, when the Great Salmanazar performs, precious stones vanish but the British public is certain that the Malabar Rose is in safe hands. To Flotsam's puzzlement, Mrs Hudson seems uninterested in rubies, but very interested in the rather more humdrum case of a missing clerk from Ealing. And when the ruby disappears, the missing clerk's gloves a very ordinary pair provide Mrs Hudson and Flotsam with a vital clue.
Martin Davies has taken a short break from writing his more literary novels to concentrate on the re-editing of his Sherlockian novels the Mrs Hudson series.
