Modelica – Object Oriented Modelling of Induction Machines

Christian Kral

Theory and Practice for Electrical Technicians with Tutorial for GitHub

A Practical Introduction to Modeling of Electrical Machines with Modelica Included: GitHub Tutorial for Organization, Development and Maintenance of Modelica Libraries and Simulation Examples

Virtual experiments keep gaining relevance in the development process of electrical machines and propulsion systems. Modelica is an object oriented model language for the description of complex physical systems using math equations. This textbook conveys the fundamentals of modeling of rotating electrical induction machines. Based on the established object oriented models the text discusses in detail asynchronous, synchronous and synchronous reluctance machines. Selected simulation experiments with practical relevance are part of the open-source Modelica standard library and round off each of the machine specific chapters. Based on an open-source-simulator the reader can simulate and analyze these on his own. The textbook addresses students, engineers and those interested in electric technology.

Main Subjects:

•          Fundamentals of Electrical and Mechanical Technology and Thermo-Dynamics

•          Simulation Tools
