When their favorite k-pop group suddenly retires, the Merendine (aka the Snack Pack)a ride-or-die friendship group bonded by music, snacks, and endless inside jokes - refuse to let heartbreak ruin their long-awaited trip to Seoul. Determined to save the k-pop world, they set out to find their idols and convince them to make a comeback, diving headfirst into bustling streets, iconic k-drama spots, and street food stalls.
Along the way, they meet two Korean guys who get swept up in their crazy mission, helping them navigate the city, decipher clues, and sneak into places they definitely shouldn't be. From chaotic stakeouts to a brief stint in jail, the girls' adventure takes one wild turn after another. But as the clock ticks down, one question remains: will they save the k-pop worldand maybe find love along the way?
The novel is a standalone but leaves room for a potential series, with future installments exploring each girl's personal journey, relationships, and dreams.
Alessia Peira lives in Turin. She studied Asian and African Languages and Cultures, spent a year in Japan, and earned a degree in International Studies. She loves discovering new cultures and currently keeps practicing Korean through k-dramas and k-pop, while her pile of grammar books gathers dust. Merendine in Corea is her first novel, inspired by her entirely reasonable obsession with everything Korean.
