Mercedes-Benz model range W 124 was built from late autumn 1984 up to mid 1997 (in India a bit longer, until 1998). Available body types within this model range were saloon cars, estate cars, coupés and convertibles. Of all these models the saloon cars were actually the most successful cars from this series. In line with spring 1993’s model upgrading the generic term Mercedes-Benz E-Class for all those models was introduced.

W 124 models featured various innovations in terms of technology and design, such as the characteristic rear end which meant an aero dynamical improvement and consequently a better driving performance with less fuel consumption. Special attention was paid to the passengers’ safety, e.g. an ABS brake system and airbags were installed. Numerous W 124 models were used as taxis, and their high mileage performance and the total number of cars still in use today are the best proof of the quality and long lasting durability of these cars.

This beautifully illustrated book depicts the complete development history with detailed lists of technical facts and figures – a great gift for all enthusiasts of this impeccable model range.
