MASTER OF MINDFULNESS
Angelina Alvarez Laurie Grossman Musumeci
How to Be Your Own Superhero in Times of Stress
All kids have stressespecially when dealing with difficulties at school, at home, or with friends. And when
they're really upset, it's hard for them to make good decisions. This book gives young readers the skills they need to tap into their own inner strength in stressful times by showing them how mindfulness can make them their own superhero.
Written for kids by kidsby Laurie Grossman and a class of fifth graders in Oakland, CAthis unique book
presents mindful activities proven to help children pay attention, accept themselves and others, manage tough
feelings, and more. With engaging illustrations and examples of how being mindful works in different situations, the book even covers some of the science behind why mindfulness helps kids feel better, stay in the present moment, be kind, and make good decisions. Also included are easy and fun practices like mindful breathing, noticing feelings, and doing a body scan, as well as useful links to audio recordings produced by the students.
