LITTLE TOOT

Mark Burgess Hardie Gramatky

First published in 1939, this classic story of the energetic tugboat is brought to new life in this restored edition.
Little Toot is a tug boat who doesn't want to tug. Instead, he wants to weave figure 8's around the harbor and bother all the busy tug boats. The other tug boats make fun of Little Toot and call him lazy. So Little Toot storms out to the open ocean to prove he can work hard. He soon is all alone in the wide open ocean just as a storm rolls in, and an ocean liner needs his help. It's up to this little tug boat to get the job done!

I am delighted to know that this classic piece of Americana,Little Toot, will be enjoyed by readers of all ages for years to come.

How delightful to revisit the seaworthy world of brave Little Toot--that little tugboat who proves his courage and earns his manhood riding atop Gramatky's superb, water, wild waves. This book has a sweet innocence and joy that now seems thoroughly lost.
