HIC! . . . cure his hiccups? Tadgh Bentley is a picture book author and illustrator originally from the UK, now living in the Hocking Hills of Ohio with his wife Emily and puppy Atticus. After six years teaching elementary aged children in Britain and Jordan, he had some time to pursue a long-held dream of writing and illustrating his own picture book. Many months and several false starts later, Emily had the hiccups at dinner and ‘Little Penguin Gets the Hiccups’ was born. Tadgh is a self-taught artist who works digitally after spending many years trying to work out the vagaries of photoshop. All drawings are sketched using pen and ink before being colored digitally. Whilst this does sometimes make him feel like something of a fraud, he enjoys the immense freedom and creative opportunities that this technique affords.
