LIFE AT THE MARMONT

Raymond Sarlot Fred E. Baston

The Inside Story of Hollywood's Legendary Hotel of the Stars--Chateau Marmont

Originally published in 1987, LIFE AT THE MARMONT reveals the secrets of Hollywood's legendary hotel hideaway, the Chateau Marmont.
For nearly a century, the Marmont has welcomed the world's most famous names and faces to its cloistered corridors and sumptuous suites. For artists, writers, musicians, and stars of the stage, screen, and television, it became--and remains to this day--a home-away-from-home and haven of privacy. LIFE AT THE MARMONT is the story of these celebrities and the whirlwind decades of glamour, scandal, and tragedy witnessed behind the walls of Hollywood's most exclusive hotel.

Raymond Sarlot owned The Chateau Marmont Hotel from 1975 – 1991. Fred Baston is the author of over thirty five books, including Glorious Technicolor: The Movies’ Magic Rainbow and Max Factor’s Hollywood.
Penguin is making LIFE AT THE MARMONT available for the first time since it went out of print two decades ago--it was published by a small house called Roundtable Publishing. Our edition will feature a new afterword from co-author Fred Basten. Raymond Sarlot owned the Chateau Marmont from 1975 to 1991.
