LAST OF THE GULLIVERS

Carter Crocker

Michael Pine is a boy with no direction in life. No goals, no hopes, no dreams. And seemingly, not much of a future. Mixed up in gangs, Michael is headed straight for a juvenile detention center. Until he is given a second chance. Until he is given the opportunity to turn things around. And until he meets Lemuel Gulliver and discovers a world beyond his imagination.
A world of Lilliputians-people the mere size of a thumb. And Michael begins to believe in something. But this is a world in terrible danger, facing threats from everything from murderous weasels to teenage gangs to devastating floods, these little people are at great risk. And only Michael Pine can help them. But Michael has some trouble of his own - he's been framed for theft and it appears his second chance is about to expire. He needs to do what he can to save the Lilliputians from certain death. But how can he save them if he's locked up for a crime he didn't commit?

With help from his friend Jane, Michael is able to break free from prison. And, with the cops hot on their tails, the pair does everything in their power to return the Lilliputians to safety once and for all. From outrunning the cops to outsmarting a dangerous gang to escaping by boat, it is an exciting journey - one full of great peril, and also full of great adventure. And along the way, Michael learns a great deal about himself, and finally, he learns to dream.

Carter Crocker has spent many years writing for children's television, and he has received two Emmys and a Humanitas Prize for his work. He currently lives in Ojai, California, with his wife and daughters.
